Ice Center - Cupertino and San Mateo

Ice Center Skating School

We are very happy to be able to reopen, to a limited extent, our very popular Skating School classes starting on November 5. Every student who had classes remaining when the rink was forced to close on March 14, 2020 will get a prorated credit to apply to these new classes. In addition to the prorated credit amount each student is due based on how many class sessions remained when the rink closed, we are giving each student an ADDITIONAL 10% CREDIT BONUS that can be applied to any new class offering. We understand that some of you might want to wait before coming back to class; all credits, including the 10% bonus, will be available throughout all of 2021 for any class offering.

We have posted a list here of all the classes that were in operation as of March 14, 2020, and the associated credit (and bonus) that is available. If you don't know which class you were in, you can go into your Ice Center account for that information.

The Covid-19 mandates from the County of Santa Clara and the State of California require us to pre-register and pre-pay every student for any class; we cannot accept walk-up business at this time. So, in order to use your credit, you will need to register for one of the new classes we will be starting November 5. Because of limitations of our software, when you register it will show the full price of the class. However, before your credit card is charged, we will manually apply the credit and bonus you are owed. Your card will only be charged for the balance due. You can view the details of your transaction from your Ice Center account once it's processed. Click here to go to the registration page.

If you were enrolled in the Ice Center of Cupertino skating school prior to the Covid-19 pandemic, you might remember the extra's that we were able to provide our students. Unfortunately, for now, we are unable to offer these extra's. We want you to know, however, that we will include all of these extra perks once the State of California and County of Santa Clara restrictions are lifted, or at least reduced enough that we can begin to incorporate them back into our program. Here is a list of what we are talking about:

  • Because there is no Public Skating, we cannot offer free, unrestricted access to all public skating sessions as we usually do. And, of course, no guest passes.
  • Because every Skating School class is a cohort, students cannot skate in other cohorts. In addition, due to the Covid mandates and class size limitations, we do not have any available ice time. Therefore, we have no ability to offer make-up classes.
  • The new format for class is 12 on-ice sessions, twice per week for six weeks. The schedule for the classes starting November 5th are Thursday and Saturday, with times noted on the registration link. Skate rentals are included.
